Elijah Douglas is a proud voice for culture, language, and community on Black Star Radio. Elijah has never been shy behind a microphone — he grew up loving public speaking and was inspired to pursue radio after being interviewed over the years by several media organisations.

Broadcasting from the heart of Doomadgee, Elijah is passionate about sharing local stories, lifting up community voices, and helping people feel comfortable in sharing their thoughts and stories on air. Some of his career highlights include interviewing artists like Budjerah and Kaiit, covering the Dream Aloud Festival, and working with MJB and Mark in the Black Star studios.

Elijah brings a mix of culture, language, bush tucker knowledge, and good music to every show. He loves playing local tracks and spotlighting musicians from the community.

With a deep passion for traditional knowledge — from language to bush medicine — Elijah describes himself as having “a soft heart for my culture and my heritage,” and it shows in everything he does.
